This weekend will be held at La Farga de l'Hospitalet the first edition of SAGA, a unique event in which to enjoy gaming and learn about the latest developments in the video game sector in Catalan. Promoted by Plataforma per la Llengua and with the support of Catalonia's Culture Department, the aim of this event is to become a meeting point for the gaming world in the Catalan-speaking territories and to promote the language within the industry.
From LCI Barcelona we join SAGA with the workshop "Low Poly Character Modeling for Video Games", which will take place on Sunday, December 4th at 17:00h. Xavi Segura, Technical Director at Custom Films and professor of our Bachelor's Degree in Video Game Design, will explain how to model low poly characters for a video game with the program Autodesk Maya. In addition to focusing on the creation process, he will reveal all those aspects that must be considered to achieve the desired character.
According to the White Paper on Spanish Video Game Development, Catalonia is the region with the greatest weight in this sector both in terms of number of companies (206) and turnover (50% of the total). Barcelona is, therefore, a great hub of the gaming industry and, at LCI, we train its future professionals through a range of programs based on what companies currently demand and need.
